Responsibilities and role

Roman is a GIS Developer supporting the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission as an external consultant via Piksel. He contributes to WEFE (Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem) projects in Africa, combining scientific analysis with the development of tools that support evidence-based environmental decision-making.

Professional profile and type of experience

With a background in geography and expertise in water and soil sciences across tropical and subtropical regions of Africa and South America, Roman connects field research with remote sensing technologies. His work focuses on analysing surface water dynamics and developing tools for structured data management, visualization, and scientific interpretation, ensuring that stakeholders and policymakers can rely on robust, meaningful insights.

Roman is driven by a strong belief in applied science and participatory approaches.
